Shipping & Receiving Coordinator

Description:

Working with Supply Chain Management and Clinical Operations, schedules and prepares product shipments as needed in support of both commercial manufacturing operations as well as clinical trials. Receives incoming shipments as per all pertinent standard operating procedures while working with Purchasing to provide the highest level of customer service. Ensures the warehouse area is clean and orderly while ensuring compliance to GMPs and company guidelines as applicable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Schedules shipping for out bounds activities relying on information from Supply Chain Management and Clinical Operations, Courier, customer requirements.Effectively maintain shipping requests that supply chain coordinates with management.Prepares required documentation for shipments as well as staging of the material to be shipped per internal and external controls.Creates electronic files for all shipping activities and uploads all pertinent documentation per commercial manufacturing operations as well as clinical trials.Communicates daily shipping and receiving information accurately on computer to supply chain and generates related reports as required.Inspects and coordinates receipts with recipients and Purchasing to ensure materials are provided according to purchase orders provides input to management.Works with Production Planner with various inventory transactions, and cycle counts.Establishes and maintains ERP (or equivalent) item shipping/receiving parameters including warehouses, warehouse controls, storage parameters and continuously improves data integrity in the ERP system (or equivalent).Works with management to address issues regarding shipping and receiving in a timely manner. As well as any Purchasing discrepancies.Manage deadlines based on project expectations.Ensures warehouse is maintained in a clean and orderly manner.Gathering, processing, analyzing and sharing goods flow information and trends, identifying possible risks and proposing actions to prevent and providing accurate flow and capacity plans.Work with management to establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for shipping and receiving operations within plant.Knowledgeable in pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and pharmaceutical regulations, or other regulated industry, a must.To perform this job successfully, in-depth knowledge of an ERP application (or equivalent); Microsoft Project (or equivalent) Project Management software; Microsoft Excel (or equivalent) Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Word (or equivalent) Word Processing softwarePerforms other related duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience


BS/BA Degree in Supply Chain / Logistics / Business. 3-5 years of experience in Inventory Management/Shipping/Receiving or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Strong ERP experience and understanding required. Experience using Oracle, SAP, Prism, or similar ERP system.Solid understanding of/experience with MS Office.Highly analytical skill set with Excel experience and attention to details.APICS Certified in Production Inventory Management (C/PIM) desirable but not required.
